JHL Constructors Celebrates the Ribbon Cutting for Granby Elementary School

Granby, CO – JHL Constructors, in partnership with Big Valley Construction, is delighted to announce the grand opening of the new Granby Elementary School, a cutting-edge facility designed to meet the educational needs of the expanding community. The new school accommodates kindergarten through fifth grade with four classrooms per grade level and preschool with three classrooms, all within a spacious two-story building designed for future growth.

Designed by Hord Coplan Macht (HCM), the 70,000-square-foot replacement school, located near Granby Middle School, includes a gymnasium, cafeteria kitchen, music and art classrooms, and administrative offices. The first-floor houses preschool through first-grade classrooms, special education classrooms, and a library, while the second floor includes classrooms for second through fifth grades, as well as technology and science rooms. Additionally, the school features two playgrounds: one for preschool students and another for elementary students.

Funded by the East Grand School District bond, the new elementary school is part of a comprehensive initiative to improve safety, security, and accessibility district-wide in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The bond also finances various upgrades throughout the district, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

“As a Colorado-based, Colorado-focused builder, we are privileged to work in some amazing places across the state, and Grand County has always held a special place in the hearts of many at JHL,” said Ryan May, Sr. Project Manager with JHL. “Since breaking ground in March 2023, it has been evident that this is a truly special community. We are proud to have played a role in creating a vibrant learning environment for current and future generations of students.”

The ribbon cutting ceremony was followed by a back-to-school celebration where students, parents, and faculty had the opportunity to tour the new facility.
